Wedding Enquiry Form
Thank you for asking Rev. Dr. Stuart Pattico to officiate your wedding ceremony. Pastor Stuart considers all such requests an honour.
For those who are not members of Joy Community Church, Pastor Stuart's standard fee for conducting a wedding ceremony is £250 plus travel (45p per mile). This fee includes one rehearsal. This is to be paid to Pastor Stuart one week before the rehearsal (he will send you an e-invoice).
Pastor Stuart usually officiate weddings for those he knows personally. However, he may on occasion also agree to officiate a wedding for others.
This service is offered as an extension of his Christian ministry, and he is therefore only able to officiate marriages that are in accordance with his Christian beliefs. As such, he only offers to officiate marriages that fall within the Christian definition of marriage between one man and one woman. Pastor Stuart does not officiate ceremonies that incorporate religious activity from other faiths.
The Bible forbids a spouse to divorce and marry another, unless the divorce is due to adultery, abandonment, or abuse. Therefore, Pastor Stuart does not conduct weddings where either the bride or the groom have previously initiated a divorce, unless the divorce was for one of those reasons, or for reasons necessary for the individual’s or children’s protection, whether physical or psychological. An exception may made in cases where the previous spouse has now passed away or has entered a sexual relationship with another, both of which release the other party to marry. However, Pastor Stuart can officiate weddings for those who have been divorced against their will, as they did not initiate the divorce.
Pastor Stuart also recognises that there are those who have now committed their lives to Christ, but in their pre-Christian lifestyle instigated a biblically invalid divorce and now realise that what they did was wrong, but would find it difficult to be sexually pure as a single person and now therefore wish to find a suitable marriage partner. Pastor Stuart is happy to consider their request for him to officiate their wedding, as they are now a new creation in Christ. Where such a one has wronged their previous spouse, they should ensure that they have sincerely apologised.
Furthermore, as the Bible teaches that Christians should marry Christians, Pastor Stuart does not officiate weddings between a Christian and a non-Christian (however, he can officiate weddings between two non-Christians).
This is not a service to the public as a whole, and Pastor Stuart reserve the right to decline any request for any reason.
